Pain is dispelled in the company of the Holy,

Chanting the Name of  Lord, it will not affect you.

One afflicted by the terrible fire of thirst and desire

Becomes cool chanting the glorious praises of  Lord.

When peace is not attained by millions of efforts,

Singing praises of Lord will satisfy the mind. 

Bless me with your devotion, the Searcher of hearts,

This  is Nanak's prayer, Lord and Master!
